A Restorative Vision for Senior Living, Rooted in Comfort, Nature, and Connection
Confidential Senior Living Project Presentation Centre, Vancouver, Canada
Located in Granville, Vancouver, this confidential senior living project introduces a refined and restorative vision for later-life living. The completed presentation centre offers the first expression of the community’s interior design direction, welcoming prospective residents and their families into an environment shaped by comfort, dignity, and a strong sense of belonging. CHIL’s interior design work is ongoing for the full senior living residence, which is set to open in 2027.
Inspired by the calm, nurturing qualities of a conservatory, the design narrative is rooted in connection to nature, daily wellbeing, and the familiarity of home. Drawing from Vancouver’s tree-lined neighbourhoods, the interiors use natural light, layered greenery, botanical references, and tactile materials to create spaces that feel warm, grounded, and quietly uplifting.
A palette of warm oak tones, soft greens, textured stone, marble, and layered lighting creates a soothing foundation throughout the space. Curved forms, crafted millwork, residentially scaled furnishings, and artful botanical details reinforce the conservatory concept, bringing softness and refinement to the experience. Each detail is designed to feel approachable yet elevated, supporting both emotional comfort and practical functionality.
As the broader senior living facility continues to take shape, the interior design extends this narrative across a rich range of amenity spaces, including dining, wellness, fitness, lounge, activity, garden, and gathering areas. Together, these spaces are envisioned to support residents through a variety of daily experiences, from quiet reflection and personal care to creativity, movement, dining, and social engagement.
Balancing luxury with comfort and aesthetics with everyday use, CHIL’s design creates a welcoming senior living environment that gently supports mind and body. The result is a thoughtful, human-centred interior experience. One that feels familiar, restorative, and deeply connected to the rhythms of home.
